Private Tour - San Antonio Museum of Art: Roman Landscapes.
This first-ever U.S. exhibition breaks new ground in art history with a look at how humans depicted themselves in relationship to nature through works of landscape imagery created in Roman Italy between 100 BC and AD 250. With the landscapes spotlighted prominently in lavish Roman villas, as sacred and mythological symbols, and in funerary and other everyday settings, the 65 wall paintings, sculptures, mosaics, and cameo glass and silver vessels from Italy, France, and Germany are being shown in the U.S. for the first time
