The Italian Hall at Piazza Italia

Cost: Free 

Address: 201 Piazza Italia, San Antonio, TX 78207

Highlights: Piazza Italia was the Finish line of the 2024 Fiesta 5k run (immediately preceding the Fiesta Flambeau Parade, the largest night parade in the USA outside of Mardi Gras!  The location is typically (E Martin Street X Santa Rosa) the end / disbanding area of the Battle of Flowers Parade and the Fiesta Flambeau Parade.  Free parking for visitors most days of the year makes it an economical choice. The $20 fee for special events is reasonable, especially during peak times.  It is a great spot for anyone picking up a marcher / parade attendee.

  • Proximity - Situated in a historic pocket of downtown, this parking lot is excellent for those attending events at the Italian Hall, Historic San Francesco Di Paola Church, Piazza Italia (public park) or those exploring the San Pedro Creek extension.  It's also close to the San Antonio Museum of Art and a short walk from the RiverWalk.

  • Benefits - This lot is free the majority of the time and has over 120 spots across the two lots. 

  • Cost - Free for hall and park visitors, $20 for special events

The Rand Building

Cost: $$

Address: 110 W Houston St. San Antonio, Texas 78205

  • Proximity - Located on Houston Street, The Rand Building is a prime spot for those looking to explore nearby attractions. It's within walking distance of the Majestic Theatre, The Alamo, and the River Walk. This makes it a convenient choice during events when these areas are particularly bustling.

  • Benefits: Secure parking with easy access to some of downtown's most popular sites. Ideal for longer stays given the tiered pricing.This lot does validate for places like Chick-fil-a, Pinkertons, and Double Standard.

  • Drawbacks: This is a VERY narrow / spiral parking garage, where trucks, suburbans, and other larger vehicles struggle to make turns (evidence of many scraped bumpers / damaged vehicles).  The first 3 floors are mainly reserved for people who work in the surrounding buildings.

  •   3 Hours: $14.00

  •   5 Hours: $18.00

  •   7 Hours: $20.00

  •   Overnight: $30.00


SA Zoo Parking Garage

Cost: Free for Zoo visitors

Proximity: Located next to the San Antonio Zoo, this garage offers easy access to the zoo and nearby attractions such as Brackenridge Park and the Witte Museum.


Frost Bank Tower

Cost: $$$

Highlights: The biggest thing this parking garage has going for it, is that it is big and secure! Enjoy covered parking, but be prepared to pay higher rates. Centrally located, just a few minutes from major cultural and entertainment venues such as the Empire Theatre, Majestic Theatre, San Fernando Cathedral, and Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. Offers a secure and convenient parking option. Perfect for those attending shows, concerts, or services downtown.


Japanese Tea Gardens

Cost: Free 

Address: 3853 N St Mary's St, San Antonio, TX 78212

Highlights: Free parking is a significant perk, especially during busy event days. It's perfect for families looking to enjoy a day at the gardens and zoo.

Proximity:: This parking spot is adjacent to the Japanese Tea Gardens and is within close proximity to the San Antonio Zoo, making it an ideal choice for a day of exploring these serene and educational spots. This location is also close to First Tee (golf for beginners) and Bombay Bicycle Club (a favorite bar for Trinity alumnus).

The Pearl

Cost: $$

  • $10 for 2-5 hours

  • $20 for 5-24 hours

Highlights: Reasonable pricing for the location, with the added benefit of being in a vibrant area filled with activities and attractions. Ideal for those planning to spend several hours enjoying The Pearl's offerings.

Proximity: The Pearl district is a trendy spot known for its dining, shopping, and cultural experiences. It's a short drive from the downtown core and easily accessible. However the Pearl can get very crowded during major events.
