Vera Salvatore - Celebrating her Life, Legacy, and Love

Vera Lucia Benacquista Salvatore: July 23, 1948 - May 21st, 2024.

Vera Lucia Benacquista Salvatore age 75, went to be with Our Lord and Savior on May 21, 2024.

Vera was born on July 23, 1948 in Fontechiari, Italy to Lucia Panetta and Ernesto Benacquista.

In 1958 she moved to Toronto, Canada and graduated from Central Commerce High School.

In the next season of her life she married Carlo Salvatore on May 2, 1970, at St. Anthony’s in Toronto.  She dedicated over 20 years raising her two children Lisa and Paolo.  In 1995 she and Carlo realized the American Dream and proudly founded CFS Forming Structures.  For over 25 years, she and Carlo left an indelible mark on the skyline and city of San Antonio.  She was known as a shrewd negotiator, was loved and respected by her all colleagues in the construction industry. Vera was known the “tough business lady” that would shake your hand and serve you an espresso after the deal was done.

In addition to her professional endeavors, she was an active member of the Christopher Columbus Italian Society and served as President of the San Francesco di Paola Woman’s Auxiliary. Throughout her personal and professional life she actively and passionately championed women leadership and business initiatives.

Vera’s first love was to be “Nonna” to her 5 grandchildren.  She loved Sundays around her table and loved to make Pizza and Pasta for all.  You were not allowed to leave her table or house hungry.

Vera loved her birthplace, Italy.

She and Carlo restored her family home and enjoyed many years there being with their cousins and friends.

Vera will be greatly missed by her family, friends and colleagues.

Vera is survived by her husband, Carlo; her son Paolo; her daughter, Lisa and son in law Jaime; her 5 grandchildren, Mateo, Gabriella, Marco, Luca and Addie; her sister Toni and many extended family members from Canada and Italy.
